"Splashtron" coated pipes are excellently protected from abrasive damage that would normally occur during the typical J-tube pull. Because the line is being bent as it is pulled through the tube, this protection is somewhat vital, as a large portion of the line is out of view and rather unreachable. In the case of pulls that are done in deeper areas of water, extra security is desired for the line being pulled through the J-tube. To accomplish this, Mark Tool Co. developed "Splashtron": Friction Modified.

As with normal "Splashtron" application... the pipe to be protected is coated with a layer of "Splashtron". In addition to this significant protection, a second layer of "Splashtron" is applied over the first. The extra protection comes from the second layer, which is "Splashtron" that has a solid lubricant mixed in during the manufacture of the "Splashtron".This added layer of protection has been shown to reduce the friction between the J-tube and the pipe by as much as 17% over regular "Splashtron"-coated pipes that do not have the "Friction-modified" protection.
